Dear students
We need to love people more and more and show genuine concern when they are unwell or need help. Showing love by caring and sharing is the most important virtue a human can have. People often complain that they have no time to keep in touch with each other. This Earth time is just a flicker compared to universal time. Ones good thoughts and actions towards others will be remembered in the universal time frame, that means forever. We must love our parents, brothers, sisters, family and friends with all our hearts. There is never a good reason to fight and argue with each other. Life is too short. Many find a greater reason to be attached to the material world, power, status and money more than being close and loving each other. What is the use of crying and showing emotion when loved ones die. It is a waste especially, when we could not love them when they were alive. Money and power comes and goes but it is love that must come and grow.

There is no doubt that there is a decline in human mentality and what was once regarded as bad, wicked and mean are accepted as normal. What is lacking in most parts of modern societies are value systems we once had.
However, all is not lost there are many good parents, teachers, elders and people of standing that are keeping age old traditions alive that help us have a sense of decency and maintain our self respect. We are proud that our Goshin kan karate are one of the few organisations in the world that help manifest good character in their students. We know that one day these very students will have great influences for a better world.

Everyone who joins a traditional form of defence discovers a system that brings out the best in people in the domains of body, mind and spirit. Students are taught that in order for their defence to work perfectly, the physical requires continueous and repetitive practice. The mind is trained to have focus, clarity and discipline and the spirit is encouraged to shine forward through the heart in developing good character so that everyone works in harmoney with each other. These abilities, attitudes and feelings are automatically carried outside the walls of the dojo because it becomes a part of them. So the traditionalist will become an asset and not a liability to the community, to him or herself and to the human race. This is the prayer of traditional teachers.
