If every human being understands the affects of the law of Karma, then there will never be bad action only good work. All actions, thought, word or deed have a rebounding reaction equivalent to ten times greater. People ignorantly cause great suffering for themselves by hurting others through this law of cause and consequence.

The magical art of karate-do stimulates the mind, strengthens the body and enlightens the spirit. The ancient Japanese masters brought great knowledge to the modern world that is a great benefit to all mankind. Only a few truly understand its great value.

Most Japanese karate masters I know have only ever regarded a third Dan to have a title of Sensei. The reason for this is similar to becoming a teacher after high school. One has to develop skills of teaching. In karate, becoming a black belt is like finishing high school, and then it takes between 10 to 15 years from Shodan to Sandan. In Goshin kan, only Sandans are Sensei.

True respect for another means to never harm them ever with our thoughts, words and actions.
Even if there is a tiny thought about them that is negative, then true respect is lost.

My teacher said do not try and give a wild tiger love by patting it on its head it will rip your hand apart. In a similar sort of way don't try and befriend those who harm others especially those who have harmed you in the past. Learn from your past errors of judgement. On the spiritual scale these are like untamed tigers. Keep the past in the past, especially the negative past.

When you wake up in the morning thinking about those who have harmed you, your day will be uncomfortable. On the other hand when you think of those whom you have helped it will motivate you to do more.

Reaching higher belts is part of the journey, each belt lifts your understanding to greater depths of the true art. At no time must the level of your belt get consumed by ego and denigrate your character.

The sole purpose of karate-do is to travel on a path of peace and non-violence. Today, some schools of karate-do have lost the plot where teachers are becoming thugs, forming gangs to bash other teachers. They are giving their students the wrong message of evil actions in the form of hate, anger and violence. These schools will fall and will destroy themselves. If one cannot practice the art the correct way give it up as it is not meant for your nature. The art of karate-do is designed for the good people of the world.
