I am so proud of young Michael at Rooty hill dojo. His mother called me a few minutes ago and related what just happened to her with her son Michael.
He asked his mother to suddenly stop their car while they were driving to the shops. His mother enquired why, he just said please stop the car I want to do something. He run up to one of the Anzacs on a wheel chair – shook the Old Digger’s hand and said “Sir I am so proud of you for all that you have done. Thank you Sir so much.” The emotional digger thanked Michael and told him that he was going to grow up into a fine young man. The mother of the Young man told me that the human values that I am teaching her son is working and Michael has changed so much for the better since training karate with Goshin kan. I rang Michael and told him how happy I am for what he did.

True traditional Karate in the form of Do is never simple to master. It takes a lot of hard work and a continuous effort day and night. Modern karate without Do is easy and effortless.

"Karate Ni Sente Nashi" (There is no First Attack in Karate) - Gichen Funacoshi Sensei. This is traditional karate and I am so glad we at Goshin kan practice the art the way it was designed by the enlightened masters.

Karate was never designed for business dealings and promotions for business. Today, number of organisations give grades not on ability and character of the individual. When a students fails a grade in one he gets promoted overnight in another.

The Gogen Sensei I knew loved karate and considered it to be a instrument that developed students holistically - Physically, mentally and spiritually. Money, glory, winning, ego, bullying, fighting, hurting was never in his agenda. I wish there are others like him.

The Yin Yang symbol has two sides One side is White with a black dot and the other side is Black with a white dot.The white side tells us no one is fully good and carry with them tiny imperfection that has to be worked on. The black side with the white dot tells us that no one is fully bad and they have goodness within them. This must be encouraged to grow and develop into a full flame of goodness.

For most, the purpose of life is to be happy. The best form of happiness comes from giving and receiving love. It is said that we are all embodiments of love, share this by serving others, then the world will become a better place.
