In the silent moments of this Easter weekend, let every cell in your body vibrate with energy of joy and happiness. Be grateful for the fact that a great Being of GOD called Jesus, came to this Earth with messages of peace, love, truth, right conduct and non-violence, so that we may have life. His was a life of selfless service in which He sacrificed His life for all mankind.

Slowly the ways of Traditional karate-do is disappearing in some schools into a stream lined system. Rules are changing to accommodate some student’s beliefs. Some teachers do not want to offend some religions so they eliminate the traditional bows of respect. This art has evolved in the east, not middle east or west - India, China, Okinawa and Japan. If karate ways and values comes in the way of your religion or culture then stick to your ways and do not practice this sacred art. Don’t destroy a brilliant art form that is full of respect, discipline and values, which has taken thousands of years to evolve, and make our art shoddy.

Change is upon us, the future of our past actions is now here. The best we can do is to be careful, save and not waste. It is said that those who had forsight, spent their lives in self less service and did their duty with unconditional love will not have to worry. Everyone will reap their rewards including the greedy, self centred and lawless.

The original architects of Budo worked on ways of defense from real opponents whose intention was to intimidate, frighten, injure, maim or kill defenseless people. Budo is not a game, kata must have meaning that works against real attacks and values must be taught to develop Karate-ka, Judo-ka, Aikido-ka or Budo-ka into people with exemplary qualities. This is the reason why the Divine inspired the Prince from ancient India to create this art.
