Thieving reduces a person’s dignity, status and all achievements to nil, especially if they have stolen from their parents, teachers and from those who have entrusted them to do the right thing. The golden rule in life is never take anything that does not belong to you.

At the present time, karate is becoming a sport and has lost its original form as a Do. We feel responsible as leaders that the value of karate-do is simply based on victory and defeat and treated as a competition sport.

Gogen Yamaguchi Sensei - From the Book Goju Ryu Karate-do Kyohan

I feel blessed that through the influences of my teacher's teaching and other great masters, we as an organisation would not participate in sports karate. I believe in the Do aspect of karate-do and the value it offers.

WHEN TRUTH IS REALISED,
PEACE IS ENJOYED,
LOVE IS EXPERIENCED,
RIGHT ACTION IS ACCEPTED,

A senior instructor likened traditional karate to that of an oak tree, hard and strong which takes a long time to grow and develop. Modern karate is much like a mushroom he said, growth is overnight ends up soft as sponge, and weaker than paper. Past karate was respected as an art that needed slow steady, stage by stage learning and development, while in many modern karate organizations any technique, especially kata can be taught to any grade. One wonders what the end result of this once beautiful art when Shodans are practicing and teaching the masters form Suparimpei. Students know little they just follow their teacher that sets the lead, many of whom do not even know where the path (Do) is.

There is an Italian saying " Don't look left and right to see who is watching you when you about to do something wrong, look up because GOD is watching you."

The Japanese name Yoshihiro means wide spread goodness. This is the object of Goshin Kan karate. All parents who bring their students to Goshin Kan karate want their children to either improve their character or maintain a high standard of good behaviour. Pure goodness brings peace and love.
